Elements that combine to make a whole

To save myself from having to restart panels that go awry, I worked on the art as though it would eventually make a puzzle, creating separate layers that could be combined later.

This turns out to have worked in my favour, as I've been given the ability to play with the individual elements, in turn allowing a better sense of depth within the images after applying some cheeky shading effects. I guess theres a lesson to be learnt here, always expect some surprise synergy. The synergy of course being that of the combination of traditional and digital mediums, heres a comparison to top it all off.

Theres something more immersive about that little extra depth within the piece, almost like the AR scene, you're drawn in to the panel because of it.
