I’m feeling
especially productive this time; the comic has a clear direction, tone and
aesthetic, allowing me to produce the work without distraction. I’m also
feeling positive about the progress made with the essay, I feel that I am
genuinely generating and receiving information that will positively impact my
practice. There are also elements of triangulation I believe, the area I have
always struggled with when writing essays. I have worked with the fears
mentioned within the previous evaluation in mind, maintaining a focus on the
comic rather than the AR piece.
Expanding on this,
the essay and practical are absolutely impacting and working with each other,
forming a synthesis, as information learnt from the essay effects how I
approach comic creation. Likewise, from making the comic, I am finding it is
instilling a further interest in the industry and process of others,
professionals. Speaking of which, interviewing a professional has been incredibly
beneficial to my essay writing, giving me information that I would have
otherwise been unable to acquire, from someone with a better understanding and
body of research in to the comics industry.
I need to maintain
this focus, and work harder. My output is currently good, but it could be
better. With a holiday period coming up, I need to ensure that I stick to my
sketchbook and essay as well as relaxing. Speaking specifically, there are
issues to address, my bibliography needs to undergo some scrutiny, currently
being a dumping ground for useful links, rather than information impacting the
essay. The comic could also use some order, as I am at a stage where I could
start to bring some of the pages together and actually generate some outcomes.
