Study Task 1: 10 themes

Starting a new unit of cop, we we're asked to consider ten themes from last year that we could work from and further research. I'm not too interested in re visiting the theme from last year though, Ive done the work, and I thoroughly working with the theme, but feel it would be best to move to something new. So, with that in mind, heres a list of ten things I am considering working on:

Use of colour - I want to know how colour can influence the viewer, adding foreshadowing to a narrative, or extra messages for imagery etc...

Storytelling and illustration - I have a real interest in comic making / using my work to tell a story. Illustration has a great potential to convey messages and I wish to understand how best to do that.

Iconography - Im interested in how existing imagery can be used to add to a new image, and how changing said existing images will effect the outcome and meaning.

Comics - Narrative, I'm very interested in storytelling at the moment and wish to advance the skill.

Illustrators relationship to design - Illustration meets graphics? I would look at the work of more design oriented illustrators, and see how the two combine.

Graffiti art - Graffiti doesn't seem to be as prominent as it once was, whats going on with street art and graffiti in the current down time.

Illustration and animation -Theres a clear link to the two, be it illustrative concepts for feature length work, or subtle tweaks to a still illustration for slight animation, what out there is utilising the mixture.

Illustrative trends - Is there an interest in a certain type of  style? Whats current and why in the world of illustration.

VR - A new and upcoming way to bring art to the world, Im intrigued to know what possibilities there are for illustration, and if theres a means to utilise it.

Illustration and video games - Possibly linking to VR, what are the links between illustration and video games, how may I use this.
