Exploring colour: Tin tin, colour for clarity

Tin tin has a very specific use of its colour in this comic, to separate elements of a scene, and clearly differentiate focal points. For instance, looking at the first panels, the boat is clearly what your eye focusses on, the colour, or lack there of, clearly differs from the surrounding landscapes, leading you to concentrate on tin tin. Losing the boat, tin tin still remains focally dominant, revealing the complimentary colours red and green on his kilt. This is a brilliant way to centre the imagery, especially when paired with somewhat detailed surroundings, that could easily steal the show.

Here i have taken the colour away, to show that, with a less developed understanding of colour, the imagery would be much harder to interpret, a very interesting point to consider.
